What Do I Have To Offer?
I have played soccer since the age of six and the opportunities, pathways, skills and experiences I have learned throughout have been invaluable. Communication with my teammates, leadership amongst all team members, and problem solving are some of the qualities I gained through soccer. Applying these qualities to my studies and everyday life has allowed me to become an active member in my community. Through soccer I learned the true meaning of commitment as I trained three to four times a week and travelled hundreds of miles on the weekend for competitive games. I developed teamwork and leadership skills, won many awards and made long lasting friendships.
I am currently the captain of my soccer team, which has furnished me with the opportunity to demonstrate my leadership skills. I value my family and friends, as they have given me the support and strength I needed to become an independent, free thinking, risk taking individual, which has contributed to my excellence in-group research projects, essay writing and presentations. I believe the diverse formal and informal education, along with sports activities I have participated in to date have been extremely positive as I have learned to be self-reflective, curious and an intuitive listener.
